1-03a: My Language Learning Stories and plans

From I was born to before I enrolled elementary school, it was my parents, friends and kindergarten's teachers that I learn from. At home I imitated my parents' conversation and learned Japanese from animations. When I was outside, I learned language from my friends and kindergarten's teacher. I remember singing, playing game, reading picture books there. For example, I played house with my friends. I could talk everyday conversation.  

Second, about 10 years ago, I was elementary school student. I studied how to write and read hiragana, katakana and kanji. I took Japanese class, we learned a lot of things. Several years from 10 years ago, I could learn English. My teacher have lived overseas for 5 years so he taught us English. We learned a lot of words from playing games. However I didn't write and listen English so I didn't know English grammar.

Next, I am major in English so I like English and I want to improve my English skills now. I must read a lot of English books and newspaper. I must listen to news in English and write in English. In addition I took TOEIC, TOEFL and IELTS. I studied hard because I'm going to study abroad, so I need to step up my English skills. I learn by English central, Japan Times, ALC’s power words and Hearing Marathon. Recently I stared to go English conversation school about once a week.  I could not get satisfactory TOEIC and TOEFL scores but I could get satisfactory results from IELTS test. Because of a lot of tests I made a detail goal, I study hard. Since I'm sure my English skills improve.
 

Finally, 10 years from now my language skills will make progress more. I think that time I will work and I'm not a child. I think I will use more difficult Japanese words. Besides I want to work a job where I can use my English skills. I take teaching profession license classes now so I need to take 650~700 score in TOEIC test.  Now my English skills isn't enough to work with English. However my goal is I can make full use of English so I won't stop studying English even if I can't work utilize English. So 10 years from now, my English skill will improve.

Essays 1-02b: Combined Draft Essays about Uni. Life

University life is fun but hard. they can make friends . However students must study English and have part time job.

A lot of students who are majoring in English lead a full university life, because they can study favorite subject they chose and university life is free. However second year student are busier than first year students.Second year student are very busy, because they have a lot of homework, and lots of friends. they need to use computers almost every day. First year students may need computers only once or twice a week. This is a big difference between first and second years. However, using computers regularly is good way to pick up new skills.Many students are major in English. Because they are major in English, they are like English. Thy are hard study English, in particular they are busy their home work. Every week, every day Professor give a lot of homework to student. When freshman, they are moderate study English. When sophomore, very busy English class  because student doesn't has their times.

They also need to read many books in English, and understand all sorts of sentences. Many of them need to prepare for the TOEFL test, too. All home work is useful to level up to English skills.They also start using English Central, and many  of them need to prepare for the TOEFL test, too. …

Most students can't speak fluent English because they didn't practice enough to speak English. However almost students have dream, goal and aim. For example, to be a English or Japanese teacher, to work travel agency, to make foreign friends, to study abroad and so on. That's way a lot of students must not only do their homework but take TOEFL or TOIEC tests. They know that it is important for their future. They must study hard.

Some student want to study abroad but those who can study abroad are only 15 or less. Moreover they must take 450 or more score and pass three tests. It is hard but they can get a great chance. There are a lot of exchange student from overseas. Students can make foreign friends in this university. If students want to study abroad as exchange student, they can chose countries for instance USA, Canada, England, Australia, China and so on.

Most students who are majoring in English like English literature, music, movies and other aspects of western culture.Students can watch DVDs with their friends in library. Some students watch it in English. Furthermore we sometimes watch videos and study English literature in some classes. They who take the classes must write reports so they are busy. Of course they can study except English. They can study science, economy, history, culture and so on.

What's more, they are busy because they assign a little  important role in part- time job, and they want to warn a lot of money because they want to go trip in summer vacation. Also, some student start to study because try to get some qualification. They consider to their future, and they move to come true their future. However, some student give up their future, and they stop to go university.

Also, student has a  lot of friends ship because they have new classes, new part time jobs, join clubs. They can become friend through their friends.They enjoy becoming friend, and enjoy talking about each others. They are go to outside and play with their friends in holiday because they not only study English but also they want to play with their friends for their relaxation.

Students will do their best while balancing life with study until graduation from now on.

Students must study a lot and prepare to have job and work part time job. Life of university is busy and hard but fun. The reason is there are a lot of friends and students can study a lot.

They need to study English every day. But they have part time job. There are students who works by mid night. So when they went to their home, they are very tired. Because of this, a lot of students hasn't sleeping times and they are asleep-straved every day.

About theirs part time jobs. They are works all sorts of part time job. For example, a Izakaya, Bridal, Companion, Airport and crammer. Students are finish their class and fast go to their part time job. Everyone very busy. If there is enjoy their part time job, there is can’t enjoy their part time job.

Essay 1-01a: Letter to My Host Family

Hello, I’m Misaki. I’m going to stay with you for 6 weeks this summer. I want to get along with you and I am looking forward to meet you. 

Let me introduce myself. I’d like you to know as many details as possible about me. I’m 19 year-old student in Japan. We are a family of four and I live with my family. I have a younger sister. She is a high school student. How many people are there in your family? I live with my family but I like cooking. When I stay with you, please teach me about Canadian dish. Next, I often get up early in the morning and I go to bed. How about you? How do you spend your free time? I sometimes listen to music and watch spots on TV. I’m not good at playing sports, but I like watching. My favorite sports are soccer and figure skating.

By the way, I have never been to Canada. However I am looking forward to visit there. I decide to stay overseas because I want to make progress in my English. I’m not good at speaking English but I’ll make effort to get along with you. I’d like to chat with you a lot. Please tell me about yourself, Canadian culture, and so on. Moreover I want to go out. If you have a recommended place, would you mind visiting it with me? I think there are a lot of places which are worth visiting.

Lastly I’m deeply grateful to you for your kindness. I’m sure my home stay with you will be a wonderful time and experience. Before I stay there, I study English as much as possible .I’m looking forward to meet you and visit Canada!
