Typing week12: My favorite high school memory

I have a lot of high school memories. I still get along with my friends in high school. However, the most enjoyable memory is school trip. I went to Kyoto, Hyogo Osaka and Nara. Kyoto is very different from Kumamoto. Kyoto has a lot of historical buildings and food. In addition, there are still some old streets and houses. I really liked to visit Kiyomizu temple and Kinkaku temple. I was fascinated by these buildings. I had free time in Kyoto, so I went sightseeing with my friends. I had a wonderful time. Before last day, I visited USJ. It was second time. However, I could enjoy there. I bought a lot of souvenirs. It was enchanted time for me. Probably, I was very exciting. I bought a strap. It was the same as my friends’ straps. It was precious to me. On the other hand, some of students went Yoshimoto Shinkigeki. That time, the most popular and funny entertainer appeared. Because of that, I would like to visit there next time I will go to Osaka.

Typing week11: I like and hate animals

I like big animals. For instance horse, cattle, bear, elephant and the like. When I was a child, I rode a horse. It was wonderful experience, and I will never forget. In addition, our hometown have a culture that we eat sliced raw horsemeat. When I told my friends from Hokkaido, they were very surprised to know that. On the other hand, I hate small animals. For example, dogs, cats, hamster, birds and so on. These are unpleasant for me. Just looking is no problem, but I don't want to touch them. I don't want to get close them. When I was a child, a dog ran after me!! That dog was so big and savage. It was really frightening experience for me. After that, I became to not like animals. Due to the experience, I had lots of trouble. When I took science tests, pictures of animal were posted the papers. I was shocked and I hid the picture in stationeries.

Typing week10: My favorite dessert

My favorite dessert is ice cream. One of my favorite ice cream is Haagen Dazs. I know it is more expensive than other kind ice cream. That's way, I could eat only when I was sick. However, it is not so expensive in Canada. In addition, it is big! For the first time, I was surprised and happy. In China, it is also not cheap, so I and my roommates bought it every time. We ate vanilla, chocolate, cookie and others. Every taste is yummy! In Japan, we only see cup. However, the supermarket where I usually go have not only cup but also bar. One box have only 3, so it is not enough for us, but it is very delicious. I prefer bar to cup. Aspect of variation andquantity, Canada is superior I think. That's why, I want to eat much before I go back to Japan!

Typing week9: My favotite class

My favorite class is writing. I understand I need to take conversation class, but it is very hard and difficult last semester. Our teacher's pronunciation different from other teacher, so listening to her English is difficult. However, I like her. She is really learned person. However, we needed to talk a lot and did presentations. Japanese students were exhausted to death. Of course, I am happy to attend all lectures, and done all assignments. On the other hand, writing is just enjoyable. Our teacher is very funny. In addition, our class had only 8 students, so teacher taught each student about our mistakes. It is very nice for students. We also practiced conversation. However, sometimes we played games, so I enjoy learning. The most favorite point about writing class is I weren't exhausted. I don't know the classes next term, so I am a little afraid of next class. However I hope I can enjoy learning.

Typing week8: My favorite place

My favorite place is TESL Center in Saint Mary's University. I am a TESL student now. I love it, because there are my friends who are from other countries and wonderful teacher. I don't like quiz, but I like classes. I can learn a lot of things. One class have about 10 students, so I have many opportunity to say my opinions and ask questions to my teacher. In addition, There are sence of the seasons, especially, Christmas. Recently, TESL staffs decorated the building. It is very cute! We don't have opportunities social gathering to SMU students. I think it is better KGU. However, they give us a lot of events. For example, Yoga, Chicken wings, NS tour, getting NS ID, Christmas tree lighting ceremony and the like.  I am very happy to come TESL center, and I am filled with gratitude to there. After I go back to Japan, definitely I will miss there.

Typing week7: My favorite book

My favorite book is Yae no Sakura. It was broadcasted as NHK long drama a few years ago. This is historical story. It is set in Fukushima. When this drama was broadcasted, after Tohoku great earthquake. I prefer book rather than drama. Of course I like drama too, because cast was very beautiful and handsome. However, novel describe feeling of character more detailed. Main character is Yae who is as tough as a man. She learned how to use gun from her brother and she fought as a man in the war. After she lost, she learned English and something from other countries. It is not normal, because at that time, women stayed home. Every women didn't use gun except her. The most important reason I like this book is I can learn Japanese history. When I was a high school student, I learned world history. Actually I prefer Japanese history to it. So, I like this book, and I want to read other historical novel.

Typing week6: My favorite flower

Let me explain about my favorite flower. I love sunflower. Because I can feel summer.　It is beautiful and like the sun. This flower turns toward the sun, so the language of flower is "I gaze at only you." The place of origin is North America. In Peru, It was important as symbol oｆ sun god. I also like the color. Recently, I like yellow, so I sometime buy yellow clothes. In addition, my class in preschool was sunflower class. That's way, I feel a special attachment to this flower. When I was preschool student, I danced to a music. That song is "Flower" by KinKi Kinds. I think I never forget this song. No matter how hard or difficult it may be, I will be ok as long as I listen to this song. I like lyrics. "Let's grow love flower, it will be strong like sunflower in blue sky."

Typing week5: My favorite TV show

One of my favorite TV show is "Hajimete no otsukai". I love it, because I can watch cute children. I usually watch it with my family. My father also like children. Children who go out alone is almost from 2 to 5 years old. They don't like separate with their parents. Also their parents are worry. However children grow up during short time. They can learn a lot of things from going out alone. Audiences of this TV are moved. I Before they said bye to their family, many children cried. Sometimes they bought snacks without telling their parents, Some young children can't memorized things they need to buy. The reason why I like it, sometimes we watch the children 5 or 10 years later. It is very interesting!

My favorite music is Rolling In The Deep. I really love Adele. Her voice is very beautiful and powerful. I also like other her songs. Her song is dark but, it was fascinated many people. This song was based on her experience with her ex-boyfriend. Originally, she would sing this song a cappella. Her singing ability is admired! I also like lyrics especially "we could have all, rolling in the deep." Japanese singers' love song are very different. Adele’s words have a hatred of her ex-boyfriend. For the first time I listened to this song, It was new to me. I like Set Fire To The Rain and someone Like You. Adele's songs fascinated me, and I can't wait next new song!

Typing week3: My favorite season

My favorite season is spring. I have some reasons. First of all, I can refresh in spring. In spring, we start new class. Secondly, spring temperatures is perfect! It is not cold, but it is not boiling. It is easy to choose clothes in the morning. Next, we don't need air conditioner. It is important for me. I am tired to use air conditioner and it is not good for our health. Finally, the main reason is it easy to go out. We have a golden week! We also have summer and winter vacation, but temperature is not better that spring. Last golden week, I went to the Ninomaru park for picnic with my friends. I will go back to Japan before golden week, so I want to go out them, I can go back Japan next spring, so I cannot wait!!

Closing Ceremony

Last Friday, Closing Ceremony was held. That day is special for me, and I looked forward to attending it. First of all, I was happy to know that Japanese hosted the ceremony. I didn't know him, but I was proud of it. Secondly, we gave certificate. I can step up for level 4! I felt relieved. Finally, we watched video. Last semester, each class recorded short movie about Christmas and new year. In my class, we said about our class and then Chinese student said "Marry Christmas" in English and Chinese. Japanese students said "Happy New Year" in English and Japanese. Arabic students said also said something. Some classes, they sang a Christmas songs or do short drama. In addition many teachers, staffs and woman who clean TESL sang a song. It was fantastic and funny. It is very different between Japan and Canada. Every semester, some students was nominated as outstanding students be our teacher, but I didn't win. However, Japanese student won, so I was happy. Last semester, Japanese student also win.

Typing week2: My favorite movie

My favorite movie is Home Alone. Home Alone is comedy movie. It was released in 1990. The main character is a little boy, who is called Kevin. He was left at home alone and he tried to defend his house himself. It was on Christmas day. I watched yesterday, because Christmas is coming soon. This movie made me happy. In addition, Kevin is very clever and cute! I told my teacher my favorite movie was Home Alone. She said to me she liked it too. In class, she showed us Home Alone a little. I was surprised that some students didn't know this movie. I think it was worldly famous and popular. Last time, I watched Home Alone, so next time I will watch Home Alone 2. I don't like Home Alone 3 and 4. Because of the main character and his family were changed.

Typing week1: My favorite restaurant

One of my favorite restaurant is Sushinami. This is Japanese food restaurant in downtown. In Halifax, there are lots of Japanese restaurant. However, Sushinami is near my residence and they have sushi, ramen, bento, and okonomiyaki. I don't miss Japanese food. The cooker are Chinese, but taste is similar to Japanese. I often go there with Chinese and Japanese friends. However I think it is a little bit expensive. In Halifax, there is cheaper Japanese restaurant, but it is so far from my residence. Last time, I went to there with mu ex roommates. It took us about 2 hours to go to the restaurant. So, the best restaurant is Sushinami. I usually eat sushi there, so I want to try other dishes next time.

The Final Presentation

Last semester, I have done presentation twice in the conversation class. Second presentation was final presentation. I could decide topic myself, but we have to select academic topic. We also could talk from 5 to 10 minutes. I talked about Japanese Women's Position.

 

I was very nervous, because I couldn't read anything. That's why, I practice many times, more than 10, and polished. The day of final presentation, Chinese students did that first. However, they spoke a long time. Sometimes our teacher asked questions and said her comments, so the longest student talked about 30 minutes! All Japanese students were surprised and we couldn't understand why Chinese students didn't care about time. That's why, Japanese students couldn't do presentation the day.

When I did my presentation, I was not nervous. I practiced every day, so I completely memorized my speech. I repeated in my mind that if I finish it, winter vacation will be coming. Finally, I finished it, and I was sure I succeed. My teacher said to me she hadn't know about it, and it was very interesting. Her word made me happy.

Typing5: Something special I did during this vacation (vacation 5)

In winter vacation, most Japanese students went back to Japan, so we and Arabic friend had been to the restaurant. The restaurant is Arabic. It was the first time that I ate Arabic food. We ate kebab. It was very delicious and hearty. I think Arabic food is more delicious than Chinese food. I really love it. However beef was a little bit tough, so I will order chicken kebab next time. I really miss my Japanese friends. Yesterday, we had closing ceremony. Two of Japanese friends gave me letters and we took photos. Every time, teachers selected outstanding student in end of semester. I was nominated, but other Japanese student won. After that, we watched a video. Each class made short movie about christmas and new year. It was fantastic!

Typing4: Good and bad points about summer

In my opinion, good poit of summer is there are a lot of festivals. Festival is very exciting and I can wear yukata. After I entered KGU, I usually go to the festival with my classmates. It was very fun and I was exhausted, but I could make a good memory, On the other hand, summer is too hot, especially Kumamoto. If it were not for air conditioner, we would die. I love summer, but the difference from temperatures of an air conditionated room and outside is unhealthy. If I stay an air conditionated room whole day, I will be cold, and sometime I will have a headache. However, if I stay outside whole day, I will get heatstroke.

I need to study hard in winter vacation, because next class will be more hard and difficult. I usually study English by Power Words, BBC learning English, YouTube, and review of the class. I want to keep that. If I stop studying in winter vacation, I will forget a lot of things. I want to finish reviewing unit 5 and 6 of Power Words. Maybe next semester's class, I will need unit7's vocabularies. In addition, I want to up my TOIEC score. Last time, my TOIEC score was made me depressed. I lost my confidence. That's why, I will study hard!

I'm in Canada, and I will go to the TESL center in next term. Next term will be from January to February. I’m going to take IELTS class and listening class. In morning, I'm going to the level4. I'm worry, because from level4 is very difficult, because content is more academic. We need to do lots of homework, ppt, and quiz. I will spend in Halifax in winter vacation. In fact, I'd go to Toronto with my roommates, but they will go to China, so one of my roommate and I decieded to stay here. OUCHI CAFE

Today is not my day because I take Japanese literature class but misfortune I and my friendS was late 10 minutes. We went classroom but nobody were in classroom. We don't hear about canceled class and moving classroom. We didn't know what we should do so we visit academic affairs section. I explained about it but woman in charge didn't know. So we wrote attendance cards and we couldn't attend the class. Next period, I don't have any class so I wanted to do my homework but there were no computer available. I didn't have something to study so I made up my mind to watch DVD. In fact, I'd like to watch "Arietty" but it will broadcast tonight so I watched "Gedosenki". However my family except me are watching other DVD. I'm very sad so I'm writing blogs. Today's afternoon, 3th period, I went to classroom but I forgot that we had no class in this class. I was very sad because I take only 1 class today. I watched DVD again.

However lunch was difficult between usually. I went to "Ouch Cafe" with my friend. It was the first time that I visited there. This cafe is small but peaceful atmosphere. Food was delicious and not expensive. I'd like to go again.

Yesterday my first period class took 3 minutes because professor was sick. He came into our class and said "I am a sick and fever so I don't lecture today. I could enjoy there. In this afternoon, I had a lunch with my friends and I watched Harry Potter with my friends in the library. I love Harry Potter series and I have all books and DVDs. When I watched it, I wanted to visit USJ. I'd like to go there really after I'll earn much money in the future.

1-03a: My Language Learning Stories and plans

From I was born to before I enrolled elementary school, it was my parents, friends and kindergarten's teachers that I learn from. At home I imitated my parents' conversation and learned Japanese from animations. When I was outside, I learned language from my friends and kindergarten's teacher. I remember singing, playing game, reading picture books there. For example, I played house with my friends. I could talk everyday conversation.  

Second, about 10 years ago, I was elementary school student. I studied how to write and read hiragana, katakana and kanji. I took Japanese class, we learned a lot of things. Several years from 10 years ago, I could learn English. My teacher have lived overseas for 5 years so he taught us English. We learned a lot of words from playing games. However I didn't write and listen English so I didn't know English grammar.

Next, I am major in English so I like English and I want to improve my English skills now. I must read a lot of English books and newspaper. I must listen to news in English and write in English. In addition I took TOEIC, TOEFL and IELTS. I studied hard because I'm going to study abroad, so I need to step up my English skills. I learn by English central, Japan Times, ALC’s power words and Hearing Marathon. Recently I stared to go English conversation school about once a week.  I could not get satisfactory TOEIC and TOEFL scores but I could get satisfactory results from IELTS test. Because of a lot of tests I made a detail goal, I study hard. Since I'm sure my English skills improve.
 

Finally, 10 years from now my language skills will make progress more. I think that time I will work and I'm not a child. I think I will use more difficult Japanese words. Besides I want to work a job where I can use my English skills. I take teaching profession license classes now so I need to take 650~700 score in TOEIC test.  Now my English skills isn't enough to work with English. However my goal is I can make full use of English so I won't stop studying English even if I can't work utilize English. So 10 years from now, my English skill will improve.

I will write about my favorite book. My favorite book is "Yae no Sakura". This series was broadcast TV. This story is written about Yae's life. She was born the end of Edo period. Her father and brothers were samurai. She was a girl but she liked boy because she fought with a gun. However she married again, and her second husband was Christian and he established a school. Moreover Yae worded hard as a nurse after her husband died. She received commendation as a first woman. I like her because she is very strong and even if she faced a lot of trouble and tragedy, she lived with a smile.

My Language Skills

Ten years ago, I was 10 years old, so I didn't know about English at all.Only I took English class at school. And then I wasn't interested in English. However now I like English and I think my English skills have improved. The reason are now that I can read, write, speak and listening English compared to 10 years ago. 10 years from now, I'm sure I will able to improve my English skills because I want to work where I can make use of my English skills. Typing12: My own topic (part time job)

I will write about my part time job. I work at calm school as a teacher once a week. In fact, I want to work more but I must take 5 period classes. I work on Saturday. I teach Japanese and Social subject and English. When I teach new students, I am busy because I don't know junior high school students' favorite conversation. University life is fun but hard. they can make friends . However students must study English and have part time job.

A lot of students who are majoring in English lead a full university life, because they can study favorite subject they chose and university life is free. However second year student are busier than first year students.Second year student are very busy, because they have a lot of homework, and lots of friends. they need to use computers almost every day. First year students may need computers only once or twice a week. This is a big difference between first and second years. However, using computers regularly is good way to pick up new skills.Many students are major in English. Because they are major in English, they are like English. Thy are hard study English, in particular they are busy their home work. Every week, every day Professor give a lot of homework to student. When freshman, they are moderate study English. When sophomore, very busy English class  because student doesn't has their times.

They also need to read many books in English, and understand all sorts of sentences. Many of them need to prepare for the TOEFL test, too. All home work is useful to level up to English skills.They also start using English Central, and many  of them need to prepare for the TOEFL test, too. …

Most students can't speak fluent English because they didn't practice enough to speak English. However almost students have dream, goal and aim. For example, to be a English or Japanese teacher, to work travel agency, to make foreign friends, to study abroad and so on. That's way a lot of students must not only do their homework but take TOEFL or TOIEC tests. They know that it is important for their future. They must study hard.

Some student want to study abroad but those who can study abroad are only 15 or less. Moreover they must take 450 or more score and pass three tests. It is hard but they can get a great chance. There are a lot of exchange student from overseas. Students can make foreign friends in this university. If students want to study abroad as exchange student, they can chose countries for instance USA, Canada, England, Australia, China and so on.

Most students who are majoring in English like English literature, music, movies and other aspects of western culture.Students can watch DVDs with their friends in library. Some students watch it in English. Furthermore we sometimes watch videos and study English literature in some classes. They who take the classes must write reports so they are busy. Of course they can study except English. They can study science, economy, history, culture and so on.

What's more, they are busy because they assign a little  important role in part- time job, and they want to warn a lot of money because they want to go trip in summer vacation. Also, some student start to study because try to get some qualification. They consider to their future, and they move to come true their future. However, some student give up their future, and they stop to go university.

Also, student has a  lot of friends ship because they have new classes, new part time jobs, join clubs. They can become friend through their friends.They enjoy becoming friend, and enjoy talking about each others. They are go to outside and play with their friends in holiday because they not only study English but also they want to play with their friends for their relaxation.

Students will do their best while balancing life with study until graduation from now on.

Students must study a lot and prepare to have job and work part time job. Life of university is busy and hard but fun. The reason is there are a lot of friends and students can study a lot.

They need to study English every day. But they have part time job. There are students who works by mid night. So when they went to their home, they are very tired. Because of this, a lot of students hasn't sleeping times and they are asleep-straved every day.

About theirs part time jobs. They are works all sorts of part time job. For example, a Izakaya, Bridal, Companion, Airport and crammer. Students are finish their class and fast go to their part time job. Everyone very busy. If there is enjoy their part time job, there is can’t enjoy their part time job.

Typing 10: Using computer

I don't like using computer because it is so difficult for me. Now I use Mac in writing class. Sometimes I am really in a jam. However I think using computer is useful. Moreover it is important for our future. If we get something computer license, we can full in it in resume. I want to take tests about computer skills. Usually, I used computer for doing my homework so I feel hard because I can't do it without log in.  Login need time and I can't do easily. I prefer to write by hand to typing. I think writing by hand can remember something than typing.

This book is easy to read. Based on the story by E. Nesbit. She wrote her books a hundred ysars ago. This story the most famous book. The RAILWAY CHILDREN is about children whose father arrested and want to meet him. They have to leave London with their mother. Children wave at the London train everyday because... If you want read happy story, I recommended it.

Typing 9: my fovorite movie

My favorite movie is " High shool musical". This movie is musical so songs of this movie are so funtastic. When I watched it for the first time, I was very excited. Because I had nover watched musical and foreign music. However I loved it. Moreover I became to be interested in foreign music, movie, singer, and actor. So I'm major in English now.  This movie changed my life. I sometimes watched it and litening to movie's music. My teacher in junior high school said lf you  want to improve your English ability, you should listen to foreign music. So I had heard high school musical's songs since I was junior high school student but I'm not sure taht my  listening ability improved.

Soccer game

I watched soccer game yesterday. Japan team played with Cypurus. Starting member was Honda, Kagawa, Okazaki, Kakitani, Uchida, Kawashima, Konno, Endo, Nagatomo and so on. I was happy because my favorite soccer player is Kagawa. Okubo, World Cup's surprise mumber, relieve the second half. The result was Japan's win. Uchida score a goal. I was so happy but I wanted Okubo and Kagawa to success.

I want to visit foreign countries. For instance, I want to go Canada but I will go this summer. So I will study hard and I want to take my friend with my friend. Speaking English

I went to English conversation lesson in COCOzyuku because I'm not good at speaking English well. My teacher is from South Africa so he speaks British English. His English is slower than Japanese teacher's English. I can listen his conversation almost. However I cannot speak English. I'm sure that I need to practice more. When I will stay Canada, I want to talk in English to many people. I 'm going to go there.

My other classes are very difficult and hard because my teachers give us a lot of home　works. I have a many things I have to do especially literature classes is so hard. I take Japanese literature and English literature classes. I have to read a lot. I have never tried to read book. That's way I was really in a jam but recently, I can enjoy those stories or books. International society and Japan's contain is fun but It is hard to get up early. My teacher doesn't enter us if we are late. I have been late 1 minute once.

University Life

I lead a full my university life. Because when I was high school student, I did not study almost. However I study English a lot now. I'm busy but I enjoy.

First, let me introduce about studying English. I like English but I'm not good at English especially speaking and listening. However I'm going to study abroad in Canada until August to April, 2015. I felt pressed because my TOEFL score was very low. Other exchange student's score was so high. That's way I study listening hard in my class. I can listen to English little because I think my IELTS's score was not too bad. When I decided my studying abroad, my teacher introduced Canadian exchange students. It was the first time that I made foreign friends. I seldom meet them but I sometimes chat by g-mail or LINE. I can learn writing. Moreover I accepted SMU's letter and email. I must read a lot. For the first time, I cannot read them without dictionary and I read slowly. However when I read English, Using dictionary has been decreasing. Next month, I will take TOEFL, I hope my score will be high.

Other classes are hard for me because homework and reports are a lot. Last year I wrote only 3 or 4 reports and I could finish homework 1 or 2 day. However this year's teachers give us a lot of assignments. This year's classes are different from last year's classes especially I must read books. Besides I read literatures. I have never tried it read it. However I watched Othello. This contain is difficult but interesting. That's way I read books which are written by Shakespeare. Those works was wonderful, contrary to my expectations. In Japanese literature class, I watched video about Kiyomori Taira. This video was so boring but Heike Monogatari is interesting. I had to read it. It was very long story. However I enjoyed reading it because I learned many things and I became to be interested in historical story.

 My university life is not only fun but hard and busy. However I can learn and experiences.

I study listening English is I use ALC's Hearing Marathon. It is very nice because I can listen every day but It doesn't take long time. So I can keep to study. Moreover I don't study writing especially because I am satisfied writing class’s homework. Our home works are a lot. Recently I read a book. Of course I read English books and I read English literature in Japanese too. I don't read English but I can read short story without stress often. I didn't become to hate reading English.
